What Is Sensory Recall?

Updated: Oct 24, 2023

Your physical being houses trillions of data files, dating back through life times and across timelines to the first moment of your soul’s inception. These records contain current and all previous life information.

The clearing and releasing of trauma files from within our cells can occur while we are awake as well as while we sleep. This can present as strong, sudden emotional or physical symptoms which may not make sense or correlate with your current situation. This can feel very alarming to the nervous system.

Symptoms of trauma file activation can also include memories or events starting to play in your mind. They may be events that you haven’t thought about in years. Or matters that you feel you have already ‘put to rest’ but they are presenting again.

Guidance refers to both emotional and physical presentations as sensory recall.

There are a few ways in which sensory recall of trauma occurs.

The first and most common is via an emotional or mind-movie-style flashback. This is where a traumatic memory or emotion arises suddenly, but isn’t necessarily connected to the moment or situation you are in. These flashbacks can be a one off or can also present as a phobia or adverse reaction to a particular trigger over months or years.

The trauma file flashbacks usually occur when you are either going about your day, doing an activity such as driving or cleaning - or are triggered by a specific person, item or event.

When this happens, self awareness and presence are key. If you can allow the memory or emotion to surface, it will rise and then eventually dissipate. If the emotion or symptom is recurring, this is an adequate gauge showing you that the trauma file will need to be de-activated and transmuted at the seed or core level.

Case Study 1:

A client came to me for help. She noticed that when she was near large bodies of water such as a lake, river or the sea she would begin to have difficulty breathing, a tightness in her chest and she would become filled with a sense of panic.

There was no history of traumatic events or accidents involving water in her life whatsoever. She had tried a range of modalities over the years without success. When digging a little deeper, she remembered feeling adverse to bathing at times inner childhood. But still no trauma.

When tuning in to her, I was taken straight to the active trauma file and was able to access the event. It was from a previous lifetime and the incident was a drowning.

Once this was de-activated and cleared, her symptoms settled. She wrote to me a few months later to share that she had enrolled in swimming lessons and had enjoyed taking a bath for the very first time. She was 58 years old.

The next type of sensory recall is by way of Physical Presentation.

When trauma files become active, emotions arise that trigger the body to engage specific safety responses. This can be anything from anxiety, self protection mechanisms such as weight gain, sluggish digestion or fuzzy mindedness.

Our bodies literally cannot tell if a recall event is real and happening in the present moment, 5 hours ago or 500 years ago. Sometimes this memories can be so well recorded that the body will actually replicate the physical symptoms or injuries.

Case Study 2:

Three years ago, I had a client present with unexplained marks and bruising on her neck and back. She at the time was also experiencing some quite distressing dreams.

During her healing, it was immediately clear that a past life trauma file had become active - it was the memory of how her previous life had ended. The marks presenting around her neck and on her back were a direct sensory recall of that event.

Once de-activating that trauma file, the marks faded and didnt return. The nightmares also ceased.

How can you tell if a trauma file is from this or a previous life?

Another popular question I am asked often is how to tell if a trauma file recall is from this life or a past one. There are a few ways to tell. But the main one is that past life files are not responsive to general practice or modalities, and will continue to occur and even worsen until transmuted from the seed (core cellular) level.

Current life trauma files will respond to medical intervention and treatment. There will also be a recollection or awareness of the event that became embedded into your cellular records to begin with.
