Case Study 3: The Transformational Healing of a Stuttgart Studio.

This healing was for a spacious home nestled in the heart of Stuttgart; a journey that was initiated by The Essence of The Land (EOTL).
The newly divorced owners of this property contacted me to seek assistance with the letting of their converted studio space. It had sat empty for months, without any real interest from prospective tenants.
This dwelling had borne witness to a life-altering event: the divorce of its owners. With their grown children having left home to embark on their own life journeys, a decision was made to create an alternative to traditional separation options.
Their goal was to convert the residence into a studio, not only to generate income for the wife but also to create an affordable way for her to remain in the family home that she loved.
The studio itself was gorgeous - generously drenched in natural light and framing breathtaking scenic views. The potential for the new studio space was undeniable, yet despite numerous efforts, it remained unoccupied for many months.
The owners had engaged seasoned real estate agents, who were also unsuccessful in letting the property. After feeling they had done everything right, the owners were left feeling stressed and perplexed.
When attuning with the Essence of The Land, I was soon able to understand the complexities that were obstructing the potential of this studio.
The EOTL was not only mourning the divorce between its custodians, but also felt a deep sense of guardianship over the space. With the residence now solely belonging of the wife, The EOTL was in a state of grievance and anxiety.
Much like human beings, the EOTL has its own aspirations and set of intentions. For this property, the EOTL thrived when the family lived together and was deeply saddened by the disintegration of the marriage.
This sensitive land energy ached from the absence of the children and was reluctant to accept new occupants. Furthermore, it was also feeling a sense of betrayal due to the renovation occurring without its consent.
The EOTL held a great sense of pride in the home and perceived the creation of the studio as a diminishment of its significance.
Once heard and acknowledged, the EOTL went on to raise several concerns which included:
A lack of privacy in the shared spaces
The need to improve soundproofing between the residences and
A reduced self-sufficiency for the wife (including financially)
The necessity of a more flexible rental contract.
Addressing Aggrievements to Invoke Transformational Healing.
In collaboration with the home owners, and with a firmer understanding of the sacred bond between the land and its owners, I facilitated mediation to address the grievances raised by the EOTL.
The matters addressed were:
1. Flexibility in Rental Contracts: Given the rigid, long-term rental contract was acting as a deterrent, I worked with the EOTL and owners to craft a new, more flexible agreement. The new terms offered flexibility, softer exit clauses and invited tenants to furnish the studio as they pleased.
This shift in approach was crucial in transmuting the energy of need, and the feeling of trying to impose, ultimately aligning the space's energy with potential occupants' desires.
2. Studio Space Customisation: Instead of imposing the owner's preferences on the space, the new terms opened up the option for tenants to furnish as they wished.
This approach removed the sense of restriction and allowed the studio to truly become a home for new tenants.
Acoustic soundproofing was added to the two diving walls so that each residence was more quiet, peaceful and private for both the main home and the studio.
3. Reclaiming Shared Spaces:
Small adjustments were made to reclaim some of the shared living spaces between the residences. Moving an internal wall and adding a closet laundry ensured that the studio was more self-contained.
The primary residence gained additional space by these adjustments, allowing a conversion of office/bedroom for the grown children to visit and for their mum to create an office space for her new online business.
Remedies and Results.
When implementing these remedial measures, the aggrievances were remedied and the desired results of both parties were achieved.
1. The studio began attracting perfect tenants. Applicants flocked in, and the owners were not only able to lease the studio for more than their original asking price but also found the perfect tenants who requested longer lease terms.
2. With the studio space reclaimed for the wife in the main house, it became a haven for her children's visits and a home office where she could embark on a new business venture, enhancing her income potential.
It was a remarkable transformation that not only brought financial stability to the wife but also served as a space for healing and new beginnings.
The EOTL was satisfied with the agreed remedies, and able to remain connected the children it adored. It was then eager to assist in finding suitable tenants and contribute meaningfully.
This transformative journey, guided by my deep connection with the land's energy and in collaboration with the homeowners, turned what seemed to be a dormant property into a flourishing haven.
